About Bali
Do I need a visa for Bali?
Yes, the general rule is that next to your international passport (with at least 1 full empty page and 6 months validity) you need a visa to enter Bali.
However, as of June, 2015, residents from the following 45 countries no longer need a visa or visa-on-arrival to visit Bali (in alphabetical order): Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Britain, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, New Zealand, Norway, Oman , Peru, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Singapore,, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States and Vietnam.
Be careful! Since the pandemic the rules have changed many times and Visa on Arrival has been re-instored for all nationalities. Please check current situation before departure.
If required, visa for a period up to 30 days can be bought upon arrival at USD 35 per person (± EUR 30 / ± AUD 45).
For guests residing in Bali (Indonesia) for more than 1 month, it is recommended to obtain a visa from the Indonesian Embassy in the home country before departure.
What money do I need to bring?
The official currency of Bali (Indonesia) is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Indonesian Rupiah are not available in every country. We advise you to bring Euro or USD and to have them exchanged in Rupiah in Bali. You can also withdraw money from ATMs in the neighbourhood of the villas.
Bali is a cash country and vendors prefer to be paid in cash. Most restaurants and larger shops, however, will accept credit cards.
Is Bali safe?
Bali, and especially North Bali where Villa Bossi is located, is very safe.
The Lonely Planet, the number 1 travel guide in the world, describes it as follows: “It’s important to note that compared with many places in the world, Bali is very safe. There are some hassles from the avaricious, but most visitors face more dangers at home. Petty theft occurs but it is not prevalent.”.
For your safety and comfort, we have a security guard in the evening, at night and also during the day on Sundays and Public Holidays.

How far are the villas from the beach?
Both Villa Bossi at Tangguwesia and Villa Bossi at Banjar are located right on the beach with magnificent views over the Bali Sea. From the garden, guests have direct access to the beach.
Is breakfast included in the rental rate?
Yes, breakfast is included in the rental rate.
Breakfast is one of the most treasured moments of the day, certainly during holidays. Hence, for your convenience and comfort, we offer you during your stay a complimentary, continental breakfast including:
- Coffee, tea or (chocolate) milk
- Bread with butter & homemade jam (strawberry, pineapple, mango, ...)
- Egg of your choice: omelette, fried or boiled egg
- Fruit of the day
- Alternatively, our staff can prepare a traditional Balinese breakfast
Can we also have lunch and diner in the villa? Is it expensive?
Our villa cooks will prepare for you the most delicious food for lunch and diner. You can select from our varied menu of local, Asian and Western dishes. or rely on our cook's inspiration of the day. Kids menu available.
The costs for these meals are limited to the price of the ingredients, the service of our cook being included in the rental of the villa.
Villa Bossi guests with a passion for cooking can join our staff to the local food market and prepare together with them their favorite Balines dish.
Which airport is closest to Villa Bossi?
Bali is a relatively small island and has only 1 international airport, the Ngura Rai airport in Denpasar. Villa Bossi has a comfortable car and is happy to organize your airport pick-up (see also FAQ on transportation). The journey from the airport to the villa crosses through some of the most beautiful parts of the island.
Is transportation to/from Villa Bossi convenient, expensive?
We want to make your stay at Villa Bossi as comfortable and convenient as possible from the moment you arrive in Bali up to the moment you depart. Hence, Villa Bossi has its own dedicated, comfortable car (Toyota Kijang Innova) that can transport up to 7 adult passengers. For reasons of safety, guests are not allowed to drive the car by themselves. Madé, Villa Bossi driver, can pick you up from the airport upon arrival or at any other location you might be residing before your stay with us. During your stay he will be more than happy to look after your excursions or to take you to any point of interest on the island. In addition to being a cautious driver, past guests have praised Madé for being an outstanding tour guide with a deep understanding of Balinese culture. Madé’s working hours as a driver are not included in the rental price and need to be settled directly with him. Some references prices from Villa Bossi: return trip to Lovina : 150,000 IDR, day trip : IDR 750,000 (November, 2015).
Do we have to bring towels, shower gel and shampoo?
No, fresh towels for the bathroom and swimming pool will be provided every day. We will also provide shower gel and shampoo for your convenience. Bed linen will be changed two times a week or more if required.
Can I rent a (motor) bike ?
During your stay at Villa Bossi you can rent good quality (mountain) bikes or motorbikes. Reservations can be made though our staff. (Motor)bikes are delivered to the doorstep of the villa.

Is there a hairdryer in the villa?
Yes, every room is equipped with a basic hairdryer.
What about electricity and plugs?
Electricity at Villa Bossi is 220V. Wall plugs are the standard European variety - round with two pins. An adaptor is available for your convenience.
